Talking Menopause Support, Oncology Massage and Confidence on the Made in Ely Podcast

Helena from Helrica Massage Clinic recording the Made in Ely Podcast with the Ely Work Collective, discussing menopause support, oncology massage and confidence.

Before I tell you about my experience, I'd like to introduce the wonderful team behind the podcast.

The Made in Ely Podcast is produced by the Ely Work Collective, a collaborative coworking space and content studio based in Ely. Created by Cathrine and James, they are a community of freelancers, remote workers, and local business owners who believe that great things happen when people work together — even if they're working on completely different things.

Through the Made in Ely Podcast, they shine a light on the people behind local businesses, creating relaxed conversations that celebrate the journeys, challenges and successes of our community.

I was incredibly grateful to be invited onto the podcast, and here's a little about what the experience meant to me……….

I Can't Quite Believe I've Been on a Podcast!

I had the wonderful opportunity to record a podcast, and it was an experience I'll never forget.

If you'd told me a few years ago that I'd one day be sitting in a recording studio wearing headphones and chatting on a podcast, I'm not sure I'd have believed you.

In fact, if I'm honest, I would probably have laughed.

I've always loved listening to people share their stories, experiences and passions, but I never imagined I would have anything interesting enough to say for a podcast myself.

And yet, here we are……..

“The biggest lesson I've learned through all of this is that it's never too late to start something new”

Sometimes Life Surprises You

What surprised me most was how natural it felt.

It wasn't about having all the right answers or saying everything perfectly. It was simply a conversation between two people, talking about life, wellbeing, building a business, and following a dream.

As I sat there wearing those headphones, I found myself reflecting on just how much has changed.

Not so long ago, Helrica Massage Clinic was simply an idea.

Now I have a clinic. I have a website. I've met incredible people through networking. I've gained new qualifications, learned new skills, and stepped outside my comfort zone more times than I can count.

And now I've recorded a podcast.

When I stop and think about it, it feels quite surreal.

You're Never Too Late

Helena, Helrica Massage Clinic stating a course as a mature student, which led her to founding Helrica Massage Clinic

The biggest lesson I've learned through all of this is that it's never too late to start something new.

Whether you're a woman or a man, whether you're in your twenties, forties, sixties or beyond, your dreams don't come with an expiry date.

You don't need permission to try something different.

You don't need to wait until you feel completely ready.

You don't need everyone around you to understand your vision.

Sometimes you simply need to take the first step…….

One conversation

One course

One networking event

One idea

One opportunity

And then another

The podcast reminded me that many of the things we dream about are often much closer than we think. The things that feel impossible today can become reality when we keep showing up, learning, growing and believing in ourselves ♡♡♡

What Comes Next?

Helrica Massage Clinic quote - sometimes you just have to take that leap of faith

I'm incredibly proud of what I've achieved, but I'm even more excited about what comes next.

If there's something you've always wanted to do, this is your reminder not to dismiss it.

You are not too old.

You are not too late.

And you are certainly not finished yet.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me

I believe in YOU, Helena
